Budget Report 2026-27
The budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year is being presented during the first year of the new governing council's tenure at Chapparapadavu Grama Panchayat. The budget serves as a summary of projected revenue and expenditure for the coming year; the very existence and smooth functioning of the local self-government institution depend on it. Under Section 214 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, the State Government is empowered to dissolve a Panchayat if it incurs expenditure exceeding its budget or fails to pass the budget for the year before the 1st of April. Therefore, passing the budget is not merely a legal obligation; it is also a vital tool that gives us the means to exercise control over expenditure.
